What I like about this recipe:

  • Ready to eat in less than 20 minutes!
  • EASY make very few and simple ingredients you may already have on hand!
  • Fresh and delicious – All these ingredients are fresh and simple, but combined they become the most creamy and tasty alfred sauce!

How to make shrimp Alfredo:

Boil the pasta. Drain and set aside.

Grate parmesan cheese and set aside to allow it to warm to room temperature (which will help it melt more smoothly in the sauce).

Prepare the sauce: Put the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat and cook until melted. Add the garlic, stirring often, for 1 minute. Add cream, bring to a boil and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring often. Turn the heat low and add the parmesan cheese, whisk until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add the pasta and mix into the coating.

Prepare the shrimp seasoned with salt and pepper. Melt 1 tablespoon butter or oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook, stirring occasionally, until pink, about 2-3 minutes.

Serve noodles topped with shrimp. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Recipe variations:

  • Healthier Alfredo sauce: You can use milk or half and half; the sauce is not as creamy, and you may want to thicken it with cornstarch slurry. Or replace this healthy alfredo sauce with One-Pan Skinny Chicken Alfredo
  • Seafood Alfredo: Add roasted scallops to make this a heavenly seafood Alfredo!
  • Chicken and shrimp Alfredo: Pour in the grilled chicken!
  • Shrimp with Alfredo broccoli: Add steamed broccoli or other favorite vegetable at the end, just before serving.
  • Cajun shrimp Alfredo: Season the shrimp with Cajun spice before cooking. Add 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the alpha sauce (or less if you don’t want spices).
