Soon after the first
Dinotopia book was published, a lot of people were interested in seeing the idea translated into other forms, such as collectable figurines. I did a few sketches to explore the concept, and the idea appealed to me, but I never pursued it because of time. Either I would have to sculpt them, or I would have to supervise someone else doing it. I decided my time was better spent making writing and illustrating books.
